The preseason betting odds for the AFC West division title are out and there are surprises at all with the Kansas City Chiefs as the heavy preseason favorites to win the division for the eighth straight season.

The Chiefs are going into the season with under even odds at -160 which now makes it four times in eight seasons that their preseason odds come in under 100.

On their current streak, they’ve done such a tremendous job that their in season odds to win the division have gotten stronger than -500 odds in each of their last six seasons.

To put into perspective just how dominant and profitable they’ve been, if you were to have started with $100 in 2016 when they first started their AFC West title streak and rolled over your winnings, you could have profited north of $80,000.

Over their last 10 seasons though, they’ve remained dominant with 9 of 10 seasons coming at 10 wins. This is also the fifth straight season that Kansas City has a regular season win total of over 10 to which they’ve gone 4-1 with the over.

Their competition in the division is also low which backs their odds even more. The Los Angeles Chargers are in hot waters with their star running back Austin Ekeler over contract discussions which could force him to sit out.

The Denver Broncos shouldn’t really be trusted either considering the disaster of a season they had last year with ultra high expectations. They also have a returning, but first time with the Broncos, head coach in Sean Payton who could work out very well for them, but it is his first season back after taking two years off.

As for the Las Vegas Raiders, they are an absolute dumpster fire with Derek Carr being cut and Darren Waller being traded to the New York Giants.

It also helps that most of the Chiefs other futures odds such as their odds to win the Super Bowl and their AFC Championship odds all sit in the shortest position as well.

With all that said, it is better to get in on their odds to win the division right now before the season and not waste any time as they are sure to strengthen even more meaning you have little to no time to get your bets in at their longest value.
