After the Carolina Panthers traded up to secure the first pick in the NFL Draft, many were certain that it was C.J. Stroud who they were going to select. All indications were pointing toward Stroud and even his odds to be the first overall pick shortened to under even and ahead of Young who had been favored since the pre-draft odds opened.
Fast track to under a month away from draft night and there have been multiple reports stating that the Panthers are now going with Bryce Young. One report in particular from ESPN’s Chris Mortensen was very assuring that it was Young being selected to Carolina.

“Bryce Young is the pick. Yes, connecting Frank Reich to C.J. Stroud in terms of the prototype of a guy that he’s worked with in the past … but they all love Bryce Young.
I think I’ll quote Adam Schefter when he said this reminds him of when the Niners moved up all the way to No. 3 to draft Mac Jones and then changed their mind last minute and drafted Trey Lance.
That has not worked out for the 49ers and I think the Panthers are on Bryce Young at the start and will stick with him when it’s time to turn in that card.”

In terms of what this means for the odds, NFL oddsmakers have yet to switch up the odds to show that Young is indeed the pick. Stroud remains favored at -190 while Young sits just behind him at 120.
If those reports do stay true to themselves, you might want to grab your cash and lay it all on Young before oddsmakers flip the odds in favor of Young at under even value.
Some sportsbooks are offering more value than others for Bryce Young’s first overall pick odds so you’ll want to bet on him at the right book.
His smallest value is coming in at DraftKings and BetOnline where they’re listing him with 105 odds ($100 to win $105) while others such as FanDuel and Bovada are giving him 115 ($100 to win $115) and 120 odds ($100 to win $120).
There is a ton that could still change from now until the draft with the Panthers still hosting interviews and private workouts, but with there already being reports on who they’re selecting, they should be taken heavily into consideration.
