1-Michael Penix Jr, QB, Washington

The Huskies didn’t score an offensive touchdown last week, and he was very bad like the rest of the offense, but it was a late-night game that many didn’t see. He is still my front-runner, because he has been that good this season. Also, I am not sold on the current favorite.

2-JJ McCarthy, QB, Michigan

The Wolverines are getting ready to take center stage in the coming weeks, and they have been POUNDING everyone in their way. JJ Mccarthy has been very good and also hasn’t had to take over games yet.

He will more than likely be called to be that guy against Penn State and Ohio State in the coming weeks. If has a chance to put up massive numbers this week against Purdue. Will the controversy around the program hold him back?

3-Jordan Travis, QB, Florida State

The Seminoles have been great this year, and so has Travis. His stats aren’t out of this world, but he is leading a great team that will likely finish undefeated. If that is the case, he will be in New York, and if you can guarantee that it’s worth a shot. The rest of these guys have chances to fall, it doesn’t seem that Florida State will be in that position.

Heisman odds Week 9:

Player Heisman Odds
Michael Penix Jr, QB, Washington +300
JJ McCarthy, QB, Michigan +240
Jordan Travis, QB, Florida State +900
Dillon Gabriel, QB, Oklahoma +1200
Marvin Harrison Jr, WR, Ohio State +1800

4- Dillon Gabriel, QB, Oklahoma

Dillon Gabriel probably had the best week of any of the QBs in contention. They faced off against his former team with UCF visiting Norman last week. He has 24 total touchdowns this season and only 3 turnovers. Oklahoma also looks to be in the driver’s seat until the conference title game. Again, winning means a lot in this game, and the Sooners will continue to do a lot of winning.

5-Marvin Harrison Jr, WR, Ohio State

The Buckeyes offense hasn’t been amazing this season, but in their biggest game of the year, Marvin was the best play on the field by a wide margin. He is going to need to be a game-breaker for them to continue their quest to a national title. If they are going to beat Michigan, he has a chance to win this thing still.

Dropped out: Caleb Williams, QB, USC; Drake Maye, QB, North Carolina
Still In it: Jayden Daniels, QB, LSU; Bo Nix, QB, Oregon
